How to Add a Manga Speech Bubble to a Photo (Free, No App)
Fukipop is a free web app that adds manga-style speech bubbles to your photos. It works in any modern browser, on your phone or computer — nothing to install, no sign-up.
🔒 Your photo never leaves your device. Everything happens inside your browser.
Three steps
- Pick a photo — open Fukipop and tap “Tap to choose a photo” to pick an image from your device.
- Choose a bubble and type your line — pick from four bubble styles (speech, shout, thought, narration), then type your text. Drag the bubble around, resize it, and point the tail wherever you like.
- Save and share — “Save image” writes the picture straight to your device, and you can post it to X right away.
What you can do
- Four manga bubble styles: speech, shout, thought, narration
- Vertical (Japanese manga style) or horizontal text, switched with one tap
- Font size adjusts automatically to fit the bubble
- Text is drawn with GenEi Antique, a typeface designed for manga dialogue
- The editor and the saved image always match exactly
- Great for pet photos with captions, product shots, and social posts
FAQ
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Loading your photo, drawing the speech bubble, and saving the image all happen inside your browser. This site simply has no machinery to receive or store images, so your photo is never sent over the internet.
Is it free?
Yes, every feature is free. There is no sign-up and nothing to install — it runs entirely in your browser.
Can I use vertical (Japanese manga style) text?
Yes. You can switch between vertical and horizontal text with one tap, and the font size adjusts automatically to fit the bubble.
Does it work offline?
Once the page has loaded, picking, editing and saving keep working even in airplane mode (some fonts may look different).
Can I use the images I make?
The image is saved straight to your device and Fukipop claims no rights over it. Balloon text uses the GenEi Antique typeface (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
